A vocal community advocate, and project manager with Access Matters Aotearoa, I bring a unique lens to local decision making, having raised a child with acute needs requiring the use of a powerchair. His experience has taught me how vital accessible, safe and inclusive spaces are. When done well, they work for everyone. This will be particularly important as the Local Board designs the new Takapuna Library. In my professional life I have supported the development of accessibility legislation and advise Auckland Council on universal design. Accustomed to working alongside government and key decision makers, I am an experienced advocate for the needs of others. A keen cyclist and walker, I will champion multi-modal transport improvements that inclusively connect people to place. A proud local, I look forward to bringing my lived experience, collaborative approach and community-first ethos to the Local Board. Give six ticks A Fresh Approach.
