Andrew is currently a funding assessor with Creative New Zealand, managing millions of dollars in government funding for the performing arts industry.  He was a former director at JR McKenzie Trust, the largest philanthropic organisation in the county.  He was previously a senior adviser at Philanthropy New Zealand.  This rich experience managing financial assets makes him an ideal candidate for the trust.  Raised in a Clendon state house, he experienced the harmful effects of gambling first-hand.  He is driven by the belief that the proceeds from gambling should be spent on prevention and is keen to back our local clubs and charities.

This year Andrew Lesa is standing for the Wiri Trust with Joseph Allan, Ally Billaney, Luella Linaker, Joe Lukupa and Kriss Rapana.  Their backgrounds include sports, governance, hospitality, mental health, and addiction services.
