Introducing Gayleen Maurice MA(hons); a self-motivated advocate for the West. She firmly holds the view that Licensing Trusts assist communities to thrive. She is an Advisory Board member and Conference Presenter in the Disability/Health & Tertiary sectors. Gayleen has made New Lynn her home. Her parents moved into the area in the 1970's, she attended Kelston Girls, and her children attended local schools. She has experienced locally, 'great things grow from surplus profits'. She has wide governance experience; from guiding fledgling groups, to larger services with property portfolios.
High on her list is continued support of the Living Wage in Portage Licensing Trust Hospitality venues and responsible use of alcohol. A strong voice for building shared visions through co-design alongside patrons and clients, Gayleen is enthused at the prospect of being elected and pledging to make transparent, wise and equitable decisions.
