I have lived in the Portage Licensing Trust area for most of the last twenty-five years and am passionate about our area. I am a practising Barrister and trained mediator and have held several roles on the board of a charitable organisation. I have also volunteered in team management positions for several sporting clubs. Through this, I have experience in both applying for and determining grants.
The Portage Licensing Trust and the Waitākere Licensing Trust are in an incredibly privileged monopolistic position and have a great responsibility to our community as a result. They have made a tremendous investment in our community, but I believe they can be better.
Growing up, my parents owned a small village pub, so I know the benefits that well-run hospitality can bring to a community.
I will advocate for social responsibility and investment as well as transparency as a member of the Portage Licensing Trust.
